Why Japan-origin GaAs
China holds ~98% of global gallium output and introduced an export-license regime on gallium and GaAs in 2023. The US-bound controls are suspended Nov 2025–Nov 2026, but the regime itself remains in force and can resume anytime, while the ban on gallium-extraction technology export stays in place. DOWA's Japan-origin GaAs sits outside this regime — the key card for dual-sourcing.
